NEW for 2023!  The Oregon Trail Rally is an overnight, 3-day event that will require team entry fee and registration.  Registrations for this event will open once details have been finalized and we’ll make sure to notify club members via the Club Newsletter and on our group’s private Facebook page.  For the first time since running road rally events, we’ll be taking the group out to (2) new mountains as well as a new fun venue where you can have some fun on a private road that we’ve rented out just for our group.

Day 1 starts off at the Kingston Park and Ride (at George’s Corner) at 9am.  Driver’s meeting will be head at 9:30 and be prepared for a long day of driving!  We’ll head out to Hwy 101 for a scenic drive along the Hood Canal before reaching I-5.  The group will take I-5 South until we reach the Johnston Ridge Observatory on Mt. Saint Helens for pictures and video footage.  From there we’ll head back out to I-5 south to 205, 205 to 84 East, 84 to NE 238th Drive, NE 238th Drive to Hwy 26, and Hwy 26 all the way to our final destination on Day which is the Timberline Lodge located on Mt. Hood.  The group will enjoy a beautiful nights stay on the mountain while we recharge and get ready for Day 2.

Day 2 starts off with a group meet up at 10am, driver’s meeting at 10:30 and we’ll hit the roads shortly after.  We’ll be taking Hwy 26 to 35 and 35 north I-84.  We’ll make a right on I-84 and continue east until we hit 97 and head north where we’ll cross back over into Washington. Once we cross the bridge, it’s a short ride to Maryhill Loops Rd, a private road we have rented for the group.  If you haven’t heard of Maryhill Loops Road, it’s a private road organizations can rent that allow drivers to experience over 800ft of elevation in just over 3 miles with 25 turns with 8 of them being hairpins! Once we arrive, we plan on taking people up in groups of 10 so you can get a feel for the road as you make your way up, turn around at the top and head back down.  We’ll be filming and taking pictures throughout the day and getting some amazing footage of everyone driving on the road. Once we’re done, we’ll clean up and head back out onto 97 and head north until we reach Oxford Suites Yakima.  We’ll check in upon arrival and have the rest of the night to relax and recharge.

Day 3 will start with the group checking out and meeting at 10am in the parking lot.  We’ll hold the driver’s meeting at 10:30am and head west on Hwy 12 until we reach 410.  Some teams may want to continue heading west on Hwy 12 as Crystal Mountain will be our last stop and Hwy 12 may make it easier for some teams to get home.  Once we stop at Crystal Mountain Resort for pictures and video footage, we’ll break off from there and teams will head home.

** Event is subject to change as we work with resorts/hotels and the organization that runs Maryhill Loops Road.  Maryhill Loops Road is a private road that we are renting that day, drivers will be driving at their own risk and will need to sign a waiver to participate.
