Toys for Tots Rally

We hosted an amazing charity event a few years ago and could not wait for things to settle down so we could host another rally to Spokane!  For 2023, we’re planning a rally/car show on hope to partner with the Qlispe Raceway in Airway Heights, WA near Spokane for the event.  This event is an overnight, 3-day event with no cost associated since this is a charity event.  The only thing required to attend is a gift donation to Toys for Tots once we arrive at the show on Saturday (Please do not keep gifts in your trunk or inside your vehicle overnight. While we understand this may be a hassle, we encourage everyone to bring their items inside for the night).  Tentative dates are October 6-8 or October 13-15.  We will update the group as we start locking down details for the event.

Day 1: We plan on meeting at Triple XXX Rootbeer in Issaquah, WA Friday morning at 9am.  Driver’s meeting will be held at 9:30am and we head out to I-90 shortly after.  From Triple XXX, we’ll jump on I-90 for a drive to Wildhorse Monument where we’ll take 30 minutes to stretch the legs and take in some beautiful scenery.  We’ll get back out onto I-90 east until we hit Lake Sprague Rest Area for a bathroom break and to stretch the legs.  Once we’re done, the group will merge back onto I-90 where we’ll continue the rest of the way to the Northern Quest Resort/Casino where the group will check into their rooms. We’re still working out details with Qlispe Raceway but we are hoping to get the group together for a walk across the parking lot to the racetrack for a tour and to check things out before Day 2 starts.

Day 2: The group will meet in the parking lot at 8am and bring our vehicles over to the PNW Drives display area shortly after.  PNW Drives club members will assist Toys for Toys and the racetrack staff with anything needed and get ready for people to arrive at 9am.  If someone registers for the car show, a small entry fee and gift donation will be required.  This will help cover any costs associated with renting the racetrack as well as awards for the car show.  A few PNW Drives staff will help judge vehicles for the car show portion of this event along with some members of the racetrack while other members will be able to hang out and enjoy the people and vehicles attending.  We are open to having members help out with the charity event so if you’re interested in pitching in, please let us know once you’ve registered for the event!  Once the event is over, we plan on getting everyone together for a group drive up to Mt. Spokane and ending at Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park for a group photo.  This will be about an hour drive from the raceway to get to this location.  Once we’re done, we’ll head back to the resort for our final stay and get some rest in before we head home on Day 3.  We’re still working out details with the racetrack as some other fun activities we might be able to offer so stay tuned for updates and more info!  We’ll also make sure to release updates through the Club Newsletter and on the club’s private group Facebook page.

Day 3: Meet in the resort parking lot at 10am after everyone has checked out.  Driver’s meeting will be held at 10:30 and we head home shortly after.  The rally will take us west on I-5 until we reach French Coulee, where we’ll take the group down a hidden road for a drive through the canyons and down to the Columbia River where we’ll stop for a bathroom break.  Once we’re done, the group will get back on I-5 and continue west until we reach home.
